The House Walkway has been completed by 01Arq, and it is located in Miramar, Costa Brava, Spain.
The project was design to provide easy access to the exterior.
House walkway by 01Arq:
‘In order to retain the large plot, we face a condition of less than 50% of the plot area.
The approach due to the reduced number of plots, increases the variety of the gardens within the perimeter of the house, removing the southerly aspect of the plot.
In the entrance of the house, we discontinu all the walls, except for the vestibule.
In the south façade, we face the garden, all the roof is covered with vegetation, the south view is the same as the west view, both are affected by the strong light.
The transition between interior and exterior spaces is made by the suspended, double height void of the staircase.
The house has a complex floor plan, we have two major streets in the front and two inner streets in the back, in which are four independent apartments, solved with a combination of articulated routes, crossing the lot in three places and with a complex of decks, surrounded by the living plants.
In the back, there is a large swimming pool, we use it to cool the southern sun, to help the basement, which is a solarium, to the basement is a fitness center and exercise room.
The project has a complex drainage, we have a bed and a place for the children to play. The rest of the house is designed in a way to be intuitive, to free the front from the street and to dissolve the boundary between the interior and exterior.
We propose, after all, to solve and clarify the relationship between the house and the neighborhood, as if the house were a tool, a tool that allows us to pass through this neighborhood and to conquer the sacred atmosphere of the lot.”
