This next house is a set of 1930s houses and in the Dutch province of Heerenberg, the Netherlands, this three storey building is located on a sloping plot. Located on the highest point of the plot from Heerenberg, the area is characterized by a steep slope. The architects that thought about this project, Pieter Willemse has created a unique roof garden to make the vistas more beautiful.
The garden was created by elevating the water table at the roof level. It has a round base that restrains the path to the garden. It includes a water fall, provided with a channel leading to a spring fed pond. The beautiful surrounding landscape will be enhanced even more the coming winter when the pond will be filled with snow.
This beautiful house is located at the highest point of the plot, being inspired by the land. It has beautiful vistas like the surrounding nature and also the sky. There’s a strong dialogue between the interior and exterior spaces and a perfect balance between the two. In order to preserve the beautiful landscape, the house was placed high above the ground. This way it gets all the amazing views and the trees provide shade.
The house is actually a collection of late 1800s contemporary houses that were either rebuilt in the ’60s or ’80s. The architects that came up with this wonderful project preferred to let the original volumes stand out. The different area rugs will surely catch your eye. Of course, if you buy them now, you’ll have to give up a lot of features in favor of a minimalist décor and a well-organized interior.
